What is the difference between the white HAKKO soldering iron and the regular soldering iron?

As a thermostatic soldering iron, Hakko's soldering irons offer unique advantages in terms of efficiency, heat conductivity and ease of operation.

1. High efficiency heat generation

- White HAKKO soldering iron adopts advanced thermostatic technology, its power is only 20 watts, but it can achieve 40 watts of soldering effect. This means that with the same energy input, it is able to achieve better heat distribution and ensure soldering quality.

2. Precise temperature control

- Compared with conventional soldering irons, the white HAKKO soldering iron is superior in temperature control. It provides precise temperature control of the heated area, avoiding the possibility of damaging components due to overheating. This allows the operator to perform soldering work without worrying about problems caused by high temperatures.

3. Highly Reliable Soldering

- The white HAKKO soldering iron ensures high thermal efficiency as well as reliable soldering. Thanks to its ability to concentrate heat so that the entire iron is heated within only 4 cm of the tip, there is no melting even when a plastic pen stick is used as a socket. This efficient heat transfer helps to melt the soldering wire quickly and shorten soldering time. At the same time, the problem of burning out the tip of the soldering iron due to a continuous rise in temperature is avoided due to accurate temperature control.

4. Rapid Temperature Rising Characteristics

- After switching on the machine, the white HAKKO soldering iron can reach the state of melting tin in a very short time (about 15 seconds). This feature is due to its unique temperature regulation mechanism, i.e. at low temperatures, high current is used to heat up quickly, while at high temperatures, the current is switched to low current to maintain a stable output. This design allows the iron to quickly adapt to various working environments in a short period of time, both in the cold state and after contact with the soldering joint.

5. Avoid false soldering and burns

- The temperature control mechanism of the white HAKKO soldering iron ensures that the soldering joint quickly reaches the set temperature at the moment of contact. This rapid temperature rise not only helps to prevent the occurrence of false soldering, but also prevents damage to boards or components caused by excessive temperatures. For components that require prolonged contact with the soldering joint (e.g. high-power LEDs), the success rate of soldering with white HAKKO soldering irons is significantly higher than with conventional soldering irons.
